What is the difference between wanting to live and wanting to live deliberately? Is it possible, as Thoreau states, to find out you have not lived, and that there are parts of the human experience that have nothing to do with living? Think deeply.
Finding out that you have not lived is a very possible thought. There could be a few different reasonings to this. One is that having not lived means that you have not lived up to your full potential. You have not looked at the world and thought that staying in your house all day would bring you happiness and excitement. As Thoreau mentions, looking at the world with a positive attitude can mean you can look at the world with a new found respect and not only look at all of the murders and deaths in the newspapers. Are there parts of the human experience that have nothing to do with living? I think that is an opinion question because in my opinion, that makes no sense whatsoever. You need to live in order to experience anything.
There is a difference between living and wanting to live deliberately. Once you are born you are forced to live whether you want to or not, so as a response you might as well do what you want while you can. Yet some people don’t want to live so they commit suicide to quickly end their unhappy life. Thoreau's beliefs about life are completely correct because there are parts of he human experience that some people will never experience either because they choose to or not. After a while some people notice that they have been living their life in a routine and really haven’t fully experienced all that life has to offer. Routines get boring an you need to try and do something different everyday if you want to "live life to the fullest". When Thoreau states that some human experiences have nothing to do with living he means that some things that people do in life have nothing to do with them living and breathing, it is more a result of living life that they have these experiences.
There is a definite difference between living deliberately and wanting to live. Living deliberately is forced upon you because your parents chose for you to be born. However, wanting to live is much different. Wanting to live could also be considered living life to its fullest. When you “want to live” what you really want to do is accomplish certain tasks or be adventurous, anything that makes you feel successful or happy. I think that it is pretty much impossible to learn that you have not lived. Unless you have sat in a dark room by yourself your whole life, there is no way someone could tell you that you‘ve never lived. Everyday activities like going to school or work bring a new opportunity for a learning experience. Something that makes your life more interesting. Yes, some days are better than others, but it is up to the individual to make the most of their life. Every human experience has to do with living. The moments that we go through define who we are. Everything has a purpose. Whether it is to helpful or harmful, that is up to you.
There is no difference between wanting to live and wanting to live deliberately. Life is forced upon everyone as they are born, and at birth, and no one, as a child, knows the full meaning and potential in life. Everyday, the child will just wake up, and follow his parents footsteps until he is old enough to take actions in to his own hands. Even if someone has never found the meaning, happiness, or accomplished goals in their life, they have still lived. They definitely have not reached their full potential or lived life to the fullest, but they stilled went through all the basics of life and were effected by it. It is hard to say if someone really wants to live, because I believe that everyone wants to live, but maybe they are unhappy with their life at the moment. Most people who commit suicide don’t want to die, but just need attention and help so they can live and move on. Therefor, there is no difference between wanting to live and wanting to like deliberately, only how far people go and accomplish in the life they live. Literally, it is obviously impossible to find out you have not lived, as Thoreau states, but it is possible to look back and realize all that experience was a waste. However, this doesn’t mean that these parts of the human experience don’t have to do with living, because they certainly do. I believe that all-human experience and every minute of everyone’s life is part of living. Without these small moments and events, a person would only be affected by large, dramatic events, but these small moments of happiness or reconcile are what keep people living. It is possible to find out you have not lived life to the fullest and the past human experience was just a waste of time, but it is still living because you can use these mistakes to move on and maybe now be able to live life to the fullest. It is impossible to look back and find out you have not lived, because every moment of your life, as it effects you, is living.
There is a huge difference between living and wanting to live deliberately. Living deliberately is completely different that just living. Living deliberately basically means that you live life knowing what you will do next and not taking chances. Personally I don’t like the idea of living life deliberately. Doing this I would find boring and really missing the meaning of life. Living life without knowing what is going to happen is what your supposed to do, people wake up every morning because they don’t know what is going to happen to them next. I don’t think it is possible to find out you have not lived. Life is what you make it and everyone has their own definition of living. This is why it is not possible to find out you have not lived. In everyone’s own perspective they have lived but maybe in someone else perspective some has not lived. I do not think that there are any experiences in a human’s life that has nothing to do with living. I think everything that happens in someone’s life happens for a reason and there is nothing pointless about a person’s life.
There is a big difference between living and living deliberately. Living deliberately is forced upon everyone by his or her parent’s choice to have you. This does not mean since you are born, you live. Living as seen through the eyes or Thoreau is enjoying life and doing what ever you can to live the fullest and most significant life you can. Thoreau believes that everyone should take advantage of your mistakes and learn from them, and not to dwell on the little things that aren’t important. Thoreau’s main point that he makes in his short story is to live for the positive things in life and to make sure you have the life you want, not to wish that it goes by so quickly that you don’t enjoy it. He knows that life seems quick but it can be over in the blink of an eye. Living you life to the fullest is the one thing that everyone should want to do. Live you life the way you want and enjoy it.
The difference between wanting to live, and wanting to live deliberately depends on a persons point of view. In my opinion, all matters of living is based on your perspective of life. Nobody has a choice on whether they are to be born or not, but as human beings grow older, they start to make their own decisions of their life. Somebody can want to live for multiple different reasons. It could be that they want to live to make a change in others, or a change in the world. In order for anyone to go through any experiences in life, they must live life to the fullest. If the human condition never went through any hard times at all, they they would never be able to experience the ups and downs of life. Deliberately living could be only living for a single person, or living for your family or friends. I believe that every human being wants to live, but sometimes become overwhelmed with their lives which ultimately cause suicidal thoughts and actions. Just because someone is suicidal or has committed suicide, doesn't mean that they didn't want to live any longer. Their actions were based upon their psychological thoughts, and the feeling that there was nothing that could change the way they were feeling at that moment. On the other hand, going through harships is all part of the human experiance and everyone goes through them. Ultimately, it is your choice on whether or not you want to live. Only you can decide if you want to keep living and experience life in order to fulfill your purpose as a human being.
There is a difference between wanting to live and wanting to live deliberately. For example, wanting to live is just going on with your life, letting things happen without a purpose. And wanting to live deliberately is living with a purpose. Most people are content with just living. But there are also many people who live with a purpose in mind. A person can feel like they haven't lived because they may not have done something that they have always wanted to do. This creates a "hole" in a person, which makes them feel like they haven't lived. Thoreau states that people pay too much attention to little details. By paying attention to specific details, you can miss the big, more important, picture. I do not think that there are parts of the human experience that have nothing to do with living. Every experience that you have is because you are living.
Thoreau wrotethe following of his experience at Walden: "I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." Living deliberately as Thoreau utters it is something that every single human does from the moment of birth. The only time we have the option to change the way we live is as we grow and mature. We then realize we can go on living deliberately or start living life like we “want to live”. Wanting to live is more of a feeling we get due to the human condition. It is a feeling that comes upon us when we realize that we only have one life to live .And as we look back on our lives when we get older, the actions we take today, are the memories we will have tomorrow. There fore the individual makes their decisions on things that will better there lives, not just allow us to proceed with our lives. Technically, there is no way that a person can not live. Because no matter the life style, if you are functioning and breathing... you are living. Yet on a more emotional level, there are two sides of “living” … living deliberately for the rest of our life… or wanting to live. Not living would be considered the continuation of living deliberately. A perspective where the individual lives just to get by and does not have the aspirations as a person who wants to live. Wanting to live is a lifestyle where you yearn for more then just temporary highs… such as spending money to make yourself feel better. They have the desire to love and experience every aspect of the human condition weather it is good or bad.
There is a vast difference between one wanting just to live and one wanting to live deliberately. To many people they will just choose to live their life and take it as it comes. This to me is the way I am living my life. Some people however choose to live their lives deliberately. These people could be said to have their whole lives planed out before them and they know what they will be doing on a day to day basis. Many people don’t like the idea of not knowing so they will choose to live their lives deliberately so they can escape the idea of the unknown and be able to do as they please because in a sense they know what will happen. With Thoreau’s idea of people being able to miss ones life from not living it could be in the back of every ones mind. To many I think they would like to live their lives to the fullest, but in many cases this is hard to do. People seem to wish they had the life they choose but often don’t because they are just living.
There is a vast difference between wanting to live and wanting to live deliberately. When you are born, and grow up to a young child, it is your parents that raise you and want you to live. As someone becomes older, they have their own choices and responsibilities to make. As a newborn, toddler, and child, your parents want you to live, and make the choices for you. That is what wanting to live is. However, wanting to live deliberately is a difference. Starting as a teenager, in general, you learn to know what want to do, and what you to need to do to continue in life. They are people who exactly know what they want in life, and will give it their all to pursue it. Another difference of wanting to live deliberately from wanting to live, is taking risks to chase your dreams. People take risks to live how they want to live. So was Thoreau correct? Yes, Thoreau was correct that it is possible to find out you have not lived, and that there are parts of the human experience that have nothing to do with living. You can not live life, till you accomplish your goals and dreams.
Truley living is something that many people dont really do. In Thoreau's oppinion, you must understand life to live fully. Staying alive does not necessarily mean you have lived. To understand one's self completly and to fully grasp the meaning of life is the final step in ones life. Every day one learns more about himself and about his surroundings. This self realization educates him daily. If one does not seek out this self realization, he will not become familar with himself and therefore will not completly understand life. If he does not completly understand life, he has not lived fully. Many people may seem content without understanding life, they seem this way because they know no other way. If they experienced just a taste of realization, they would be inclined to better themselves by pursuing the opportunities true life will provide.
The difference between wanting to live, and wanting to live deliberately is that wanting to live deliberately is living by ones own choice, whereas wanting to live is where one only lives because they have to. Many people who only want to live because they have to often live miserable lives and often put themselves down the path to suicide. People who live deliberately have happier lives.
It is possible for one to find out they have not lived by realizing there is so much more in the world they never experienced. However it is not possible to find out that there are parts of the human experience that have nothing to do with living. This is because the human experience is life. the Human experience is all the suffering and hardships people go through, so the human experience has to do entirely with living.
There is a enormous difference between living deliberately, and just living. When your living deliberately your not trying to do anything out of the ordinary, your just going from point a to point b. When your living you don't know what is next, its a big adventure. It is possible to find out the you have not lived because you wouldn't enjoy life. I feel that people who kill themselves phen to live but something keeps holding them back, and they get up to a point where they cant take it anymore so they try to find life after death. People who are stuck with jobs that they hate, and that are over worked are great examples of living deliberately. There stuck with something they don't like , and are cowards for not doing anything.
There is a significant difference between wanting to live and wanting to live deliberately. Wanting to live is something that is forced upon a person. When they are brought into this world the decision to live has been made for them. Now the desire to want to live is what separates someone from another person. A person can be alive, but not truly live. For some people going through the daily aspects of worldly life is enough for a man to look back and say that he was satisfied with what he accomplished and that he was truly happy. Going to work and then coming home and spending time with his family enjoying their time on this earth together can satisfy a man's desire to truly live. For some people, that is not the case. Some people do not feel that they have truly lived a complete life until they have gone out and seen the world for themselves. Until they have done things that are completely extravagant, this hole that they must fill to say they truly lived may not be done by everyday life. Working a 9-5 job and coming home to his family and watching the television, may not cause a man happiness, but misery.
